Thanks for visiting my portfolio! I'm Myles. I'm just a simple man trying to make my way in the universe.
I've been working in Data since 2012. I got my start working with Relational Databases, SQL, Data Integrations, ETL, & SSRS reports. Back then, I was responsible for keeping data flowing between and through software application backends. From early on in my career, I learned how to think analytically, break big problems down into smaller problems, compare specific examples to each other, etc.
In recent years, I've grown my skillset, and I have transitioned more to Data Warehouse & Analytics roles. I am now also working with Python, Pyspark, AWS, and Snowflake. I understand the SDLC, and have worked with both Waterfall & Agile methodologies. I love a good Kanban BTW. I've learned a ton about, and have worked with, the following in no particular order: HTML & CSS, DevOps, git, CI-CD, IaC, Apache Kafka/pub-sub/AWS SNS, event-driven microservices, AWS Cost & Billing, AWS S3, AWS Lambda, AWS Glue, AWS IAM, AWS Cloudwatch, AWS Eventbridge, Fact/Dimension modelling, Normalization, structured vs unstructured data, Big Data, and Machine Learning. I'm always learning more, because there's always more to learn.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from Georgia Southern University where I graduated Summa Cum Laude as a University Honors Program scholar. I kinda miss Anthropology / Archaeology. I had a formal education in the fundamentals of Computer Science from Kennesaw State University (but I did not complete that degree once I entered the workforce). I earned my IBM Professional Certificate in Data Science in the summer of 2024.
I like to spend my free time with my family, exploring my many hobbies, and enjoying nature.
This site is very much a work in progress.
